February was a short month overflowing with extraordinary highlights across our studios. From being recognised for our outstanding visual effects, to a Super Bowl takeover with 16 ads across the big game, as well as three new trailers including EA Wild Hearts, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and The Little Mermaid. Here’s what February looked like for our studios.
MPC
February ends with a bang as MPC wins 3 VES Awards for Outstanding Visual Effects in an Animated Feature for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, Outstanding Visual Effects in a Photoreal Feature for Thirteen Lives and Outstanding Created Environment in an Animated Feature category for Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio; In the Stomach of a Sea Monster. Alongside those, Notre-Dame Brûle wins the César award for Best Visual Effects! Huge congratulations to all teams involved.
We get a first look at Disney’s The Little Mermaid trailer, coming to theaters May 26, 2023. MPC Paris & Liège present their incredible Episodic VFX 2023 Showreel.
The Mill
This month, Super Bowl 57 made it to our screens for another year of sporting excellence, phenomenal performances and the most creative advertising campaigns. The Mill was involved in 28% of Super Bowl spots, with a total of 15 commercials airing during the big game. For the seventh year running, The Mill has ranked in USA Today’s Ad Meter results with three of their creative collaborations featured in the top 10 Super Bowl commercials of 2023.
In their latest behind the scenes film, The Mill showcase how their team of VFX artists explored the unknown for British Arrows nominated Burberry ‘Night Creatures’. The Mill VFX team led by Mill+ director Morten Vinther crafted five environments, three hunter battles, five giant creatures that mix flora and fauna and also geology for a full CG Wild Hearts trailer.
Mikros Animation
Save the date for Annecy Festival 2023 as Mikros Animation confirms their attendance for the 10th year running. They’ll be there from the 11th – 17th of June to present their projects, recruit tomorrow’s talent and artists and to meet you!
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight wins the Best New Series – Kids Programming category at Kidscreen and Rugrats is nominated in the Favorite Animated Show category at the Kids Choice Awards 2023!

This month Games have been spotlighting some of the people who make up their exceptional Talent force whilst also welcoming Romain Killian, who fulfils the role of Global Head of Development.
We also celebrate the 15 year anniversary of Anand Kumawat! A tremendous achievement for his time at Technicolor Creative Studios.
